Synopsis

Bro big or bro home.

Robbie

As social chair of Sigma Beta Psi, I’m the life of the party. It’s what I’m known for, and if it’s not fun, I’m not interested, simple as that.

I’m not someone who overthinks.

So when one of my brothers hooks up with a dude from another frat house, it catches me off guard when I can’t stop thinking about them … together.

There’s only one way for me to get this obsession out of my head and that’s by jumping in with both feet and putting it into practice.

The problem is, the one guy who’s up for the ride, is the last one I’d expect.

Brandon

Being risk manager of a frat house is nobody’s idea of a good time. My brothers get annoyed when I put a damper on their plans, and wrangling drunken frat brothers isn’t how I pictured my Saturday nights of senior year.

I’m bored.

In a rut.

Study, frat duties, planning for the future.

When is it my turn to let loose for a moment?

So when my dumb-as-bricks frat bro is scoping out the house for a little experimenting fun, I throw out the offer like it isn’t the most nerve-wracking thing I’ve ever considered.

I never imagined I’d actually enjoy it.

Excerpt

Brandon wants to keep the experimenting just between us, and I can’t say I hate the idea, but I’m struggling to agree.

It’s not that I don’t want to answer him; it’s the how that’s the problem. I won’t walk away from this thing, so I’m gonna say yes, but how do we work out a time frame on it? Cross off his imaginary list and then move on? Butt sex, then bail? Get a five-star rating on our BJ skills?

We’re gonna have to talk and shit.

I always tell my bros that open communication is key, and look at me not taking my own advice. It’s different when it’s your brother and not a chick though. Girls come and go, brotherhood is forever.

Look who’s pulling up his big-boy panties and asking his bro to go exclusive with him.

Is it hot in here?

The house is full when I get there. Constant energy and noise wraps around me like a sweaty football jersey, and just like when I take the field for a game, I’m hit with a surge of love for my life.

Does this get any better? I’m gonna go with a no.

And instead of viewing this thing with Brandon as a scary unknown, I need to jump in like I do with everything else. Trading mind-blowing orgasms should only ever be viewed as a good thing—I’ll put it in the Sigma rule book if I have to—so no more holding back.

I catch him on the way to the war room—literally. The second he goes to walk by, I hook my arm around his waist and pull him into the empty laundry.

“What are you—”

I cut him off with my mouth. As we kiss, I back him into the wall, crowding him up against it and bending my knees so he doesn’t hurt his neck. Fuck, I’ve missed his mouth.

I keep waiting for this feeling to dull, for the way he kisses to stop making my head spin, to be able to look at him without wanting to do filthy things to his body. But it’s not all physical either. I like Brandon. As a friend, as a person, as a sexy little nurse.

His mouth breaks from mine, and his puffy lips make me groan.

“What …” He swallows. “I mean, hey.”

“Hey.” I grip his jaw and pull his mouth open before kissing him again. And he must get as lost in it as I do because his arms wrap around my neck, and he pulls me tight against him. Our cocks line up with delicious friction, but for once, I’m not in a hurry to move things along. I wanna kiss, and touch, and worship this sexy guy with everything I have to give him.

“Shit!” He jerks away from me but doesn’t get far. “The meeting.”

“They won’t start without us.” I pull his earlobe between my teeth.

“No, you idiot.” Brandon pushes my chest and I back up but don’t let him go. “They’re going to take one look at us and know we were kissing.”

“And?”

He freezes.

Pulls back to study my face.

“Seriously?”

I shrug. “Does it matter? They’re not going to judge us for liking some D.”

“No, but they might judge us for liking each other’s. You really want to deal with all the dumbass jokes and constant ribbing?”

“True. But then we wouldn’t have to sneak around anymore. We can hook up whenever we like. Be as loud as we want.”

Brandon rubs his thumb over my bottom lip. “I dunno, dude. I’m kinda looking forward to gagging you.”

“Someone’s kinky.”

Someone’s looking for a way to finally shut you up.”

I kiss him again. A quick one. Just because. Then I put on a cheesy porn voice. “Baby, I’m gonna make all your fantasies come true.”

He laughs and shoulder checks me as he passes. “Let’s get this meeting out of the way. I kinda hate that you gave me a hard-on before we got started.”

He’s about to leave when I remember what I was supposed to talk to him about. My fingers circle his wrist.

“I wanna do it.”

“What?”

“Just us.”

Brandon stares at me for a moment, like he’s sorting through our options and weighing up whether it’s what he wants. I have a whole second anxiety spike thinking he’s about to change his mind, when his face splits into a smile. “Yeah?”

I point to my dick. “The dragon likes you. Who am I to argue?”

“Thank fuck one of you has good taste.”

Before I let him go, I reach up to fix where his hair got all rumpled during our make-out session. His eyes meet mine, and we share a look that feels heavy and light all at once.

“Ah, thanks …” he says.

“Got your back, bro.” I let him go.

And don’t mention the epic stubble scrape blooming around his mouth.

Oops.

Blog Tour: New Release Book Review: Wicked Heat by Ella Frank

“He’s grumpy, rude, and honestly, not that likeable at all. So why can’t I stop thinking about him?”

Wicked Heat, an all-new high heat and slow-burn mm romance, and the first book in the Chicago Heat Series from USA Today bestselling author Ella Frank is live now!

REVIEW

Wicked Heat is book 1 of 2 about MCs Ryan and Jameson in a 4 book series. Wicked heat is a spin-off series from a couple of Ella Frank’s other series, I’ve met several of the characters before and now want to go back and meet the ones in the books I’ve missed.

Ryan, a sunshiney, outwardly outgoing PA for Prime-time news anchor Alexander (from the Prime TIme series), is a character I immediately loved. Jameson a firefighter (at the same precinct that Keiran from Dare to Try series recently left) who prefers to keep himself to himself and not make friends or have relationships is taciturn in his nature towards everyone.

After a series of unrelated surprise meetings, you might say serendipitous, these two end up becoming flatmates. Ryan and Jameson are very opposite kinds of characters and come from very different backgrounds, something which Jameson tries to use to keep himself separate from Ryan. Jameson has had a tough life and is dealing with past trauma and a sister who is off the rails. I really liked seeing Jameson open up to Ryan, and I enjoyed seeing his surprise as he saw himself doing this. Their chemistry is off the charts and despite everything, Jameson just can’t seem to stay away from Ryan.

This book as with most of Ella Frank’s books ends in a way that will make you wait impatiently for the next book so that you can see how everything turns out, while not a cliffhanger, it is definitely not wrapped up. Personally, I would prefer longer books where I get the whole story, but since it’s Ella Frank and I know that this is the way her books are set up, I will be hanging out for book #2 in November.

Thanks to the author and SocialButterfly PR for a digital copy of this book in return for an honest review.

BLURB

Ryan

Kind, caring, and protective. Those are the three qualities I’m looking for when it comes to my dream man. In a city as big as Chicago, you wouldn’t think he would be that hard to find, right?

Wrong.

Sure, my boss found a super-sexy detective and my best friend fell madly in love with the most eligible bachelor around. But the only person I’ve met recently is a broody bad boy who saved me at a sketchy pub.

He’s grumpy, rude, and honestly, not that likeable at all. Hardly my “dream” guy.

So why can’t I stop thinking about him?

Jameson

I don’t do friendships. I don’t do relationships either. The very last thing I’m looking for in life is to fall in love and live happily ever after.

So saving some rich guy from losing his wallet is the last thing I want to do on a Friday night. Especially when he looks like someone who just stepped off the cover of GQ

Fate seems to have other ideas, though, and every time I turn around, he’s there.

A wicked heat simmers between us, threatening to ignite, and though I’ve been trained to put out the flames, I can’t help but think: What’s the worst that could happen if I let this desire burn out of control?

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Egotistical Puckboy by Eden Finley & Saxon James

Image item

Review

Egotistical Puckboy (Puckboys #1) was a really enjoyable start to a new series. I really enjoyed these authors previous collaboration with the CU Hockey series and this new one didn’t disappoint.

Both Ezra and Anton were great characters, both dealing with life and hockey the best they could, Ezra by partying, not making emotional attachments and being out and proud, and Anton by focusing on his hockey career and having discrete hookups and keeping his sexuality out of the public’s eye. Their outlooks on their lives stem from their upbringing and families and uncovering some of the reasons behind what motivated the other was eye-opening for them both.

These two were both good for a laugh and I loved their blossoming friendship/relationship which started out as rivalry on the ice and a dislike of the other for how they perceived each other to be. Both were as egotistical as the other in different ways and the banter and snark between them was fun. I loved that they communicated everything between them and made being with each other a fun experience even while keeping it secret from their team members and from the public.

I really loved the concept of the Queer Collective which we got a taste of in the previous series. Having a group of guys who will have your back no matter what team you are on is a great idea and I’m sure in the world of sports, this should be a thing in every sport, giving LGBTQI+ people a group where they feel they can be supported and understood is extremely important, especially in areas that can be full of toxic masculinity.

This was a fun and romantic enemies to lovers read and I look forward to more of this series.

SYNOPSIS

EZRA

Partying, dudes, and hockey. What more could a gay NHL player want?

If it weren’t for Anton Hayes, my life would be perfect.

Not that he affects my life in any way. At all. That would imply I care what the winger from Philly thinks of me.

Which I don’t.

Not even a one-night stand with him can thaw his misplaced animosity toward me.

He says I’m the one with the ego, but he can talk. He rivals me for most egotistical puck boy in the league.

I hate him as much as he hates me. Even if I crave a repeat.

ANTON

When it comes to hockey, I’m all about the game.

I’ve worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l’ve done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids.

My hockey image is one I’ve carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all.

He’s cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he’s the sexiest man I’ve ever known.

We’ll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens.

That doesn’t stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

New Release Book Review: As the Tallgrass Grows by Rachel Ember

Image preview

Another great book in the Wild Ones series, I really enjoyed Johnny and Owen’s romance and I loved catching up with Dylan and Bo, now in their 70s and 50 years odd into their relationship and still totally in love, we get a chance to see how they have been travelling since we finished their story in book #3.

I really liked getting to know Johnny Robbie’s brother whose story we read in books #1 & #2 where we meet him fleetingly, so it was nice to finally get to know him and what he’d been through and what has led him to Dylan and Bo’s ranch beside the fact he is their long lost nephew. He has certainly been through a lot and I liked he was able to show his true self to Owen.

Owen is an honorary nephew of Dylan and Bo’s and though he is at first dismayed to find Johnny at the ranch, as he gets to know him, things develop and grow between them. I really enjoyed seeing them learn about each other and in turn learn about themselves and gain confidence in who they were and what they deserve. Owen’s parents certainly weren’t the sort of people I would wish on anyone.

There are plenty of emotional moments as Johnny, Owen, Dylan and Bo get to know each other and a few secrets to uncover that change some things and explain others for Johnny and Owen.

I personally would read this series in order, but you can jump in with this one, though I think you’ll get more from it if you read the others, you’ll want to read them after anyway.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a digital copy in return for an honest review.

ROOMMATE ARRANGEMENT

Divorced Men’s Club – Book One

by Saxon James

Blog Tour

Release Date: January 12, 2022

Cover Design: Story Styling Cover Designs
Photo: Wander Aguiar Photography
Model: Chris Hayman
Genre: M/M Later-in-Life Romance
Trope: Roommates to lovers, brothers best friend, opposites attract, small town

Synopsis

Payne

In search of: room to rent.

Must ignore the patheticness of a forty-year-old roommate.

Preferably dirt cheap as funds are tight (nonexistent).

There’s nothing sadder than moving back to my hometown newly divorced, homeless, and lost for what my next move is.

When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer.

I need this.

I also need Beau to wear a shirt. And ditch the gray sweatpants. And not leave his door ajar when he’s in compromising positions…

Beau

In search of: roommate.

Must be non smoker and non douchebag.

Room payment to be made in meal planning, repairs, and dumb jokes.

Since my career took off, I barely have time to breathe, let alone keep my life in order. I’m naturally chaotic, make terrible decisions, and scare off potential dates with my “weirdness”.

So when Payne gets back into town and needs somewhere to stay, I offer him my spare room with one condition: while he’s staying with me, I need him to help me become date-able.

And while he does that, I can focus on my other plan: ignoring that Payne is the only man I’ve ever wanted to date.

Review

The first in the Divorced Men’s Club series, I really liked Payne and Beau and really loved this feel-good, low angst story. Both of these characters are older than many of the romance novels out there, Beau in his late 30s and Payne who was 40, which I liked, it’s nice to see life goes on and you don’t have to be in your 20s to find true love.

Payne who has split with his husband and returned to his hometown to get over it, lacking a place to stay, ends up staying with Beau, his brother’s best friend who has had a crush on him since they were teens (Payne has no idea)

I really enjoyed the friendship and connection these two complete opposites formed and that was allowed to morph into much more without either realising what was happening. I liked the way they worked through things together and communicated, (something so many novels seem to avoid and something that drives me nuts) talking things through and working things out so that things didn’t implode between them. The chemistry between them was hot and they were so sweet with each other, that I finished the book with a happy feeling for this odd couple who worked so well together.

Cover Reveal : No Take Backs by Becca Seymour

thumbnail_CoverRevealBanner

thumbnail_No take backs_frontcover_01_rgbBLURB

Some things you can’t take back.

If you say those words, get caught glancing at his bulge, or share a heated kiss, it’s game over. The “no take backs” rule strikes, and there’s no way you can backtrack.

That’s the way it’s always been with me and Nate Griffin, my old best friend who thought he could change the rules.

It doesn’t matter that time and distance have pulled us apart. I’ve finally figured myself out and yanked my head out of my backside. Now, if only I can drag myself out of the closet and be the man I want to be for Nate…

But I’m a pro basketball player who has no desire to be a poster boy. Not only that, Nate and I don’t even live in the same country.

Nate, big-hearted guy he is, takes it all in his stride, and I can’t help but wonder if just maybe he’s too good for me. But hell if I can resist him.

It all boils down to: Do I want to take anything back when it comes to Nate Griffin?

PUCK DRILLS & QUICK THRILLS

CU Hockey – Book Five

by Eden Finley & Saxon James

Blog Tour

My Review

I loved this book, the final in the series. I read this series out of order, with book 3 Goal Lines & First Times being the first book I read and also where we first meet Westly the main character in this book. Westly had a promising future in the NHL until his parents died and he had to give up his dream to look after his younger siblings and became a coach at CU. His brother Asher is now the one working towards a promising NHL career and he is struggling with maths, Westly steps in to talk to his professor, Jasper, and they get off to a very rocky start. Jasper is known as a grumpy hardass professor and doesn’t like jocks at all, so having a hockey coach come in to ask for what he considers special treatment for a hotshot hockey player causes them to both bump heads.

After their initial meeting, they find they have some serious chemistry and when Westly becomes Jasper’s fake boyfriend for a school reunion, one thing leads to another, but with Westly’s crazy home life and Jasper’s dislike of jocks and love, there doesn’t seem to be a way to have more than some quick thrills.

These two came together so easily, they were just great together and I really enjoyed their friendship and developing relationship, something that happened without either of them realising it was happening. I loved the support they gave each other and I loved that this was a low angst read.

I recommend you read them in order for maximum storyline cohesion, but they do work well out of order if that’s how you roll.

Synopsis

WESTLY

The fall from NHL superstar to domestic disaster was swift and painful. When I became the legal guardian of my five younger siblings, I had no idea what I was doing.

One year later, I’m still lost.

Coaching CU’s hockey team might be the only thing I’m excelling at. But when our star forward is failing math, I have to do what it takes to keep him on the team. Even if it’s going head-to-head with Jasper Eckstein.

One minute I’m confronting the notorious hockey-hating professor, and the next I’m agreeing to be his date to his twenty-year high school reunion.

I don’t know how that happened.

JASPER

My rules are simple. I don’t give extra credit. Ever. No matter how entitled jocks think they are, I refuse to give them special treatment.

It’s not because I hate them. It’s not because a hockey player broke my nose in high school.

It’s fair.

But when Westly Dalton bursts into my office like a hurricane, all my principles fly out the window.

Suddenly I’m giving extra credit.

And I have a date to my reunion.

After one explosive night together, I want more, but his home life is a mess, and I don’t want to get in the way. If all we can have is quick thrills, I’m okay with that.

It’s not like I could ever fall for a jock.

Truth or Dare - BT banner

thumbnail_TruthOrDare AMAZONI have loved Bash and Kieran since Dare You (book #1) and have thoroughly enjoyed their journey to finding their happy ever after. Truth or Dare did not disappoint, it was the perfect ending for these two fabulous characters. They had some big decisions to make, and I loved that both of them were willing to make sacrifices to be with the other. I also loved how completely open Kieran was to experiencing everything he could when it came to things that were new to him, and I loved how Bash was happy to show him all of those things.

I love Kieran’s brothers, I read Bailey’s romance ages ago and really need to catch up on Sean’s romance now since getting to know him better in this series.

A fabulous series which must be read in order. My Link to my reviews for Dare You (#1) & Dare Me (#2)
