Pause is the second book in the Larsen Bros series, the first being Repeat which I haven’t managed to read yet, this didn’t affect my enjoyment of this short novel at all though.
We meet Anna and Leif, both of who have been affected by an accident that put Anna in a coma for 7 months and damaged Leif’s shoulder. Anna awakes to find she’s been betrayed by her husband and best friend, two very unlikeable characters. She meets up with Leif and they hit it off straight away.
I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story of two unlikely people who just seem to fit with each other. I loved Leif, he was a sweet guy despite struggling with his demons. Anna was trying to find her feet after her world fell apart while she was asleep.
Leif’s brother Ed and his wife Clem make great supporting characters whose story I will definitely go and read asap (it’s been on my kindle for 12 months).
This was a low angst, slow burn read which I really enjoyed.
