Reading Challenges for 2019

Happy new year everyone🎉 May it be filled with loads of  good books

So 2018 was a huge year of reading for me with over 244 books read and 136 of those being books written by Australian women.

As many of you know I’m the round-up editor for speculative fiction for Australian Women Writers so we are all about promoting books by Aussie women. Each year you can sign up for the AWW reading challenge which you can do here http://australianwomenwriters.com/sign-up/ FB_IMG_1546154275144

This year I have signed up to read 40 books. I’m pretty sure I will surpass that easily, but since I have a few other projects on the go such as finishing my study in Copyediting and Proofreading and then getting work in that field and also hopefully starting up my Art Therapy business by mid year, I didn’t want to aim too high in the challenge.

I’ve also signed up to do Book Bingo with Mrs B’s Book Reviews and Theresa Smith Writes and also The Book Muse
Every second Saturday we will each post our rounds so far. There are 30 squares, so there’ll be a couple of weeks where two squares are crossed off.
If you’d like to join in here is the bingo card

Next is a challenge to read a variety of Australian authors, at Book Lover Reviews they are running The Aussie Author Challenge where they have three levels, I’m going to do the Kangaroo Level which means I will read and review 12 titles written by Australian Authors of which at least 4 of those authors are female, at least 4 of those authors are male, and at least 4 of those authors are new to you; Fiction or non-fiction, at least 3 different genre. Finally a challenge I do every year and that is the Goodreads challenge. I’ve set my goal at 100 for now and I can always up the number if it looks like I’m going to blow it away like I did in 2018.

So I hope you look forward to reading about what I’ve been reading and I hope you join in at least one of these challenges or one of your own. I’d love to hear what you think as the year goes along.

Thanks again
